Over 16,000 elderlies in QC receive free anti-pneumonia, flu shots

LGUs can provide medical assistance to senior citizens to protect them from COVID-19.

Some 16,000 elderlies in Quezon City were given free anti-pneumonia and flu vaccines to protect them from the threat of COVID-19.

According to the city government, a total of 9,250 seniors received pneumococcal shots from the Quezon City Health Department, while 7,690 others were given flu vaccines, from January to August 2020.

Working elderlies who continue to earn a living for their family were also given the priority for the immunization program.

To date, city health care workers are still going around each barangay to give pneumococcal and flu shots to seniors.
