Overview
In line with its continued mission to assist informal sector workers cope with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 handed over livelihood starter kits to informal sector workers in Maasim.
At least 36 individuals in Barangay Kablacan, received materials to embark on different enterprises of their choice from the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). The starter kits amount to P610,740 in total.
Among the livelihood they will set up out of the DOLE support are food vending (bananaque, street food), fruits retailing, mini carinderia, halo-halo refreshment, kakanin production, carwash services, beauty care, dressmaking, fishing, vulcanizing, and welding services.
DILP is a flagship program of the DOLE which seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce vulnerability to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers either through emergency employment, promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.
