LGUs could issue a similar issuance to provide compensation to medical workers in their locality.
Overview
The Quezon City government has signed an ordinance granting medical professional volunteers a daily allowance of up to P2,500 in a bid to provide proper compensation to them to help augment Quezon City’s medical workforce and inoculate the city’s residents.
Under Ordinance No. SP-3024 s., 2021 or “An Ordinance Granting Daily Allowance to the COVID-19 Vaccination Volunteer Medical Staff”, the city government will pay for food, transportation, and other necessities of the volunteer medical staff serving at any of the city’s COVID-19 vaccination sites.
The measure said anyone who will sign up as a volunteer will be remunerated per day based on the following categories: P2,500 for medical doctors, P1,400 for dentists and nurses, P1,300 for post-graduate interns, P1,000 for other allied medical professionals, and P800 for midwives.
